PZ intrigues us for a reason we can’t quite explain. If we were writing a novel, or had enough creative ability to even think about writing a novel, we think he might make an interesting character. He’s a skeptical atheist who says he’s concerned about truth, but then lies incessantly. He’s one of the most despicable people we’ve ever read and says absolutely foul things about his perceived political enemies, but can write poignant posts about his children or father.
Today we saw the creative, well-spoken side of PZ as he described an almost certainly fictionalized account of his stay in a Roanoke hotel. This is the PZ we’d love to see more of, but know it will be but a fleeting moment in time. The lying, political PZ Myers will be back sooner than we’d like.
Until then, we’re glad for the respite.
